Pre-Surgical evaluations play an integral role in identifying whether a patient is a good candidate for certain types of surgery. Procedures that often require these evaluations include Bariatric surgery, Gender Conformation Surgery (GCS), and Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) trials.
The evaluation is normally requested by a physician in order to provide the best possible care and to determine readiness for treatment or surgery. Evaluations assist the patient by offering insight into their overall motivation, readiness, behavioral challenges, and emotional factors that may impact their coping and adjustment through surgery.
